May 20th, 2012 Partial Solar Eclipse, Island Lake, MN
A partial solar eclipse seen from Island Lake, MN. Sunspot groups were also present which made the eclipse a delight to observe! This sequence of five images show the eclipse from initial contact, to maximun eclipse for our observing location, followed by the setting sun still in partial eclipse.
This image, along with the other images, were taken with a TV85 refractor with a 0.8x TV field flattener and a Thousands Oaks Type 2+ solar filter using a modified Canon EOS 50D on an ALT-AZ mount with no tracking.
